When Bonnie Pang started IT Guy & ART Girl , she thought no one would read it because there already had been so many great relationship comics. However, here we are, 243K Instagram followers later, and the artist from Hong Kong is incredibly happy to know that so many people are relating.
“I had been creating heartwarming-wholesome style cute drawings on Webtoons called Roar Street Journal for 3 years. I had a great time making [the series], but I wanted to try creating other comics as well,” Bonnie told Bored Panda . Coincidentally, she also got engaged at the time, so it seemed like the perfect moment to start a relationship comic.

IT Guy & ART Girl adventures come entirely from Bonnie’s everyday life. However, she sometimes exaggerates things ever so slightly to make the stories funnier.
As active as Bonnie is creating her comics, she still finds time for other projects. “I still keep a balance between comics and illustrations,” she said. “I enjoy illustrating books and stuff, and these jobs generate most of my income.”

The artist isn’t afraid she’ll hit a creative block anytime soon. “I still have many ideas to turn into comics, and life will keep bringing new surprises. I’m thinking about making a sub-series that focus on a topic such as Milky the dog, getting married and going on trips,” Bonnie explained.
